OpenDNS adds feature to check on and update DNS cache

This may not mean anything to people who aren’t networking geeks, but this is AWESOME for anyone who runs any kind of server. Being able to update your DNS instantly is really nice.

Road Runner Dial Access Fix

I’ve been having trouble using Road Runner’s dial access for the past few months.
They’ve always claimed that it has been a problem on my end, and that because of that, they couldn’t do anything about it.
As I’ve posted before, I recently purchased a MacBook Pro (Macintel). Their dialer didn’t work on that. Totally different machine, 100% different software, different operating system, etc. This time they blamed it on the fact that it has a USB modem.
I’ll explain in this post how I got the dial access to work under OS X with Apple’s USB modem, WITHOUT even having their dialer installed.

The next rule the RIAA will come out with is you will have to use headphones to listen to music, even in a vehicle, or purchase a license for everyone else who is in listening distance.

Schedule for Minimal Perfection

I think we may have finally worked out a schedule for Minimal Perfection that will work for everyone.
We’re going to record between Thursday and Saturday, and post the episode on Monday. That leaves me with Sunday to do the editing and show notes.
Hopefully that will help our listeners out by giving them constant release dates, and help us out by giving us a little more time to work on things.
