I also got the error page, but it downloaded the script file and I saved it to my desktop.
I did that while I was on the phone with RR and from there the guy said he could help me so I told him I’d wing it

Hi Val,

That link doesn’t work for me. It gives me a 404 error.
Have you tried following my instructions above?

I just re-read my post and it’s not perfectly clear so I think I’ll make a video demonstrating how to do the whole process.

I’ve been on the phone with RoadRunner for three days now, trying to get the dial-up configuration while I’m away from home. Today I finally got a guy that went through the trouble of ‘trying to help’ and he did, to a point…. anyway, in the end someone told him to send me to this site to get the “DIALUP SCRIPT” http://help.rr.com/hmsfaqs/mac_dialupscript.scp

That downloads a file called “dialup.scp”.

I’m still working on it because the guy couldn’t tell me what to do past this, so if you can post anything to help past this….
My system is MAC os x 10.5.3

I was using this with no problems until yesterday afternoon, when all of a sudden it stopped working. Now I get an authentication failure every time I try to log in.

I’m curious - where did you get the script.txt file? That is what I’ve been trying to get Time Warner to give me for a while now, and they refuse.

If you could send me that, that would be amazing.
It’s probably in /Library/Terminal Scripts

There is a fix for dialing up with MAC OS 10.5.1 (Leopard). The Road Runner dialer is not compatible and will not work at all, but
you can use the MAC Networking to configure the Mac dial up capability. Open Network Preferences, select:
Modem…Advanced…PPP… settings-configuration…
check off: send ppp echo & check use tcp header compression under Terminal script … select Script.TXT.
And then click on connect… this will work !
