Found some really awesome software today called TubeSock.
It’ll take either a URL or a YouTube ID as input, download the movie on that page, and convert it for use with your iPod video.
The developer is really cool, and is working on adding support for additional services (ie Google Video), so if you need some software that can do this, check it out. It’s $15 to register, but there is a trial version that’ll do up to 30 seconds of videos.
There are both Windows and Mac versions. :)

  1. Hey Ben,

Although this looks like awesome software, I found a different program which does the same thing and costs nothing, called iSquint (www.isquint.org) . It basically converts any and all video files (including .flv or whatever most youtube videos are in) to iPod video format. I just picked up a iPod video and ive been using the program alot, and figured you might want to check it out.

  2. Hey Mac.
Yea, I’ve used iSquint to convert other videos but I didn’t know it did FLVs too. Handy!
